VPN keeps turning off?

It's not an app issue. Your phone's system closes VPN in the background.

Why is this happening and how to fix it?

What's happening

Android closes background apps to save battery — even ones that barely use any. Tuman VPN gets caught in the same net.

What to do

Add Tuman VPN to battery exceptions. It won't affect battery life — VPN already uses minimum power.

Steps

1
Turn off automatic optimizations
Open: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → three dots (top right) → Automation → turn off "Auto-optimize daily" and "Adaptive power saving"
Samsung runs a daily optimization that can freeze VPN even after you whitelist it.
2
Turn off adaptive battery and app sleeping
Open: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → More battery settings → turn off "Adaptive battery" and "Put unused apps to sleep"
These two toggles control Samsung's aggressive auto-sleep — the main reason VPN drops.
3
Remove VPN from sleeping lists
Open: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Background usage limits → open "Sleeping apps" and "Deep sleeping apps" → remove Tuman VPN from both lists
Samsung re-adds unused apps to these lists every few days.
4
Add VPN to never sleeping apps
Open: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Background usage limits → Never sleeping apps → add Tuman VPN
Apps on this list are permanently exempt from background limits.
5
Allow unrestricted battery use
Open: Settings → Apps → Tuman VPN → Battery → Unrestricted
This removes the per-app power limit.
6
Lock in recent apps
Go to: Recent apps → long-press the Tuman VPN icon at the top of its card → tap "Lock this app" (or "Keep open" on older phones)
Locked apps stay in memory and keep running.

Heads up
Samsung sometimes resets these settings after a system update. Check them again if VPN stops working after your phone updates.
Always-on VPN
For maximum stability, also enable Always-on VPN — it keeps the connection live even if the app briefly restarts.
Settings → Network → VPN → Tuman VPN → Always-on VPN
