VPN keeps turning off?

It's not an app issue. Your phone's system closes VPN in the background.

Why is this happening and how to fix it?

What's happening

Android closes background apps to save battery — even ones that barely use any. Tuman VPN gets caught in the same net.

What to do

Add Tuman VPN to battery exceptions. It won't affect battery life — VPN already uses minimum power.

Steps

1
Set App Launch to Manual
Settings → Battery → App launch → Find Tuman VPN → Set to "Manage manually" → Enable ALL three toggles: Auto-launch, Secondary launch, Run in background
This is the most important setting on Huawei devices. App launch settings list Manage manually option selected All three toggles enabled
2
Enable Auto-start
Settings → Startup manager → Allow Tuman VPN
Required for the app to restart after reboot.
3
Disable Battery Optimization
Settings → search "Battery optimization" → All apps → Tuman VPN → Don't allow
Standard Android Doze exemption.
4
Keep Running After Screen Off
Settings → Apps → Tuman VPN → Battery → Enable "Keep running after screen off"
Prevents the app from being suspended when screen is off.

Warning
On some EMUI 9+ devices, a system app called PowerGenie silently kills background apps. If VPN keeps stopping despite these settings, PowerGenie may need to be disabled via ADB.
Always-on VPN
For maximum stability, enable: Settings → Network → VPN → Tuman VPN → Always-on VPN
