VPN keeps turning off?

It's not an app issue. Your phone's system closes VPN in the background.

Why is this happening and how to fix it?

What's happening

Android closes background apps to save battery — even ones that barely use any. Tuman VPN gets caught in the same net.

What to do

Add Tuman VPN to battery exceptions. It won't affect battery life — VPN already uses minimum power.

Often stops VPN
Screenshots may look different on your version of the system.

Steps

1
Set up app launch
Open: Settings → Battery → App launch → Tuman VPN → Manage manually → enable Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background
This is the single most important setting for keeping VPN alive on Huawei phones. App launch settings opened for Tuman VPN
2
Allow autostart
Open: Settings → Startup manager → Tuman VPN → Allow
This lets the VPN come back on by itself after you restart your phone. Startup manager showing Tuman VPN allowed
3
Turn off battery optimization
Open: Settings → search for "Battery optimization" → All apps → Tuman VPN → Don't allow
This removes the system's automatic power-saving limits on the app. Battery optimization set to Don't allow
4
Keep running with screen off
Open: Settings → Apps → Tuman VPN → Battery → Keep running after screen off → on
This stops your phone from suspending the VPN when the display goes dark.

Heads up
Some Huawei phones have extra background limits. If VPN still drops after these steps, tap "Contact us" below and we'll help you sort it.
Always-on VPN
For maximum stability, also enable Always-on VPN — it keeps the connection live even if the app briefly restarts.
Settings → Network → VPN → Tuman VPN → Always-on VPN
