VPN keeps turning off?

It's not an app issue. Your phone's system closes VPN in the background.

Why is this happening and how to fix it?

What's happening

Android closes background apps to save battery — even ones that barely use any. Tuman VPN gets caught in the same net.

What to do

Add Tuman VPN to battery exceptions. It won't affect battery life — VPN already uses minimum power.

Screenshots may look different on your version of the system.

Steps

1
Enable Autostart
Settings → Apps → Tuman VPN → App permissions → Background autostart → Enable
Without this, the app cannot restart after being killed or after device reboot. Autostart permission enabled for Tuman VPN
2
Set Battery Saver to No Restrictions
Settings → Apps → Tuman VPN → Battery saver → No restrictions
This prevents MIUI from limiting background activity. Battery saver set to No restrictions
3
Lock in Recent Apps
Open recent apps → Drag Tuman VPN downwards (or long-press → tap padlock icon)
Locked apps are protected from memory clearing. App locked in recent apps list
4
Disable MIUI Optimizations (optional)
Developer options → MIUI optimizations → Disable
May help on some devices but can affect other apps.

Warning
Android One Xiaomi devices (e.g. Mi A series) work much better than MIUI devices and may not need these settings.
Always-on VPN
For maximum stability, enable: Settings → Network → VPN → Tuman VPN → Always-on VPN
